Rehoboth Special Schools
Our comprehensive day care and educational program serves children and young adults aged 4 to 30+ years, currently supporting 90 students with individualized learning plans and therapeutic interventions.
Three-Tier Program Structure Students are grouped into Care, Educable, and Vocational tracks based on their abilities.
Activities and Curriculum Academic instruction, life skills, art therapy, physical education, and vocational training — all tailored to individual needs.
Trimester Pattern A structured trimester system with regular assessments and goal-setting to ensure continuous progress.
No Fees Policy All education and care is completely free — financial constraints will never prevent a child from receiving support.

Shelters and Rehabilitation - Paraniputhur.
Shelter and Rescue Center.
is our first shelter, a refuge for over 150 mentally challenged destitute women, with round the clock Nursing care and Ambulance support. Mentally challenged destitute women from the streets are brought in by the police, other NGO’s and general public. They immediately go through a complete health assessment, a treatment plan is made and immediately put into action. Beyond the basic needs of Food, Clothing, Shelter and Psychiatric medication we also provide vocational training in a field that our women are interested and capable to work in.

Tailoring, candle making, paper cover making , screen printing and embroidery trainings are provided.

Rehoboth Special Schools
Special School and vocational rehabilitation centre- Recognised by the government – 56 students
Rehoboth special schools (Paraniputhur and Somangalam) are run by Rehoboth Public Charitable Trust, an NGO that works primarily for the mentally challenged destitute women. Special schools are day care program. Rehoboth special schools cater to the needs of students with special needs aging between 4 years to 30+ age too irrespective of severity of the disability. As of now, we serve 90 students (Paraniputhur - 63 students, Somangalam - 27) with 20 teaching and non-teaching staff (Paraniputhur - 12, Somangalam - 8).
Types of Disability :
We serve students with special needs especially intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, neurological and psychiatric disorders etc. We care mainly for the underprivileged students and that's why, we don't collect any form of fee from the students including van fee.
Classification of groups:
We have grouped iur students based on the ability and age group.
1. Care Group: Care group caters to the needs of severely challenged students, who are bedridden and depending on others for all the survival needs. Their communication is limited to smile and cry. We become second mothers in caring and serving through regular passive physiotherapy and play way method of special education.
2. Educable Group: Students from 5 years to 14 years are engaged in this group. They are given special education of reading, writing, arithmetic, physi and occupational therapy, speech and behavioral therapy, activities of daily living skills, gym and sports activities etc.
3. Vocational Group: students aging 14 are engaged into pre-vocational and vocational activities like functional academics, meaningful counting, time and money concept, punctuality and grooming etc. They are also engaged into paper bags making, tailoring, candle making, gardening etc. In this way, we are trying to ensure their future.
Academic year:
Every academic year consists of colors day celebration, independence day, annual sports day, fancy dress competition, food carnival, picnic and annual day celebration. We celebrate all the festivals like Diwali, Christmas and Pongal. We also participate actively in the sports and cultural competitions organized outside of our schools. We follow trimester pattern (June - September, October - December, January - April). Every term starts with goal setting (for both special education and therapies) and ends with term end report and parents meeting.
Inclusivity:
We want to engage every student in all the activity irrespective of severity of the disability. Even the most challenged student will participate in the sports and annual day celebration actively. Even the bedridden student will fire crackers and have a beautiful role in the pongal celebration. Every student will be included in the out door picnic with proper safety and security.
Parental Counseling and guidance:
At the time of admission and term end meetings, we carefully counsel the parents with regard to the progress of every student. We also encourage parents to participate in the awareness programs conducted at the school premises by the experts. We also conduct several medical camps for our students and parents like eye camp, multi-speciality camps etc.
Donations:
Both the special schools are run purely on the mere donations by the sponsors. We have expenses like salary to all our teaching and non-teaching staff, van expenses like fuel costs and maintenance, stationaries, miscellaneous etc. We depend on the good hearted people to support us.
